I am equally passionate about performing and teaching!
When I perform, I delight in unearthing the musical beauty, the emotions and the story within each song I sing and in communicating them to the audience.
When I teach singing, I strive to develop the unique vocal talents and performing capabilities of each individual student through the many techniques and experiences I have acquired, created and used myself over the course of my career.
From Jazz to Musical Theater and Folk, from Jewish to Italian song – what an honor and joy it is to sing concerts throughout Italy, Europe and the United States in such a variety of musical styles and languages and with extraordinary musicians!
I have maintained a private voice studio for years, teaching children and adults, from beginning vocal technique and style to advanced performance skills.
While living in Italy, I taught voice at the Bernstein School of Musical Theater of Bologna and the Florence Academy of Music and held master classes in voice for the Amici della Musica of Florence. I also taught jazz voice at the Nicolò Paganini Conservatory of Genoa. Since 2003, I have divided my time between Italy and the United States. At the Colorado Music Festival/Center for Musical Arts in Lafayette, Colorado, in Boulder County, I teach voice and direct the adult musical theater groups, Broadway Boomers and CMA Showstoppers Glee Club, which I created. I regularly return to Italy to teach master classes for the Amici della Musica of Florence and Jazz Voice Workshops at the John Coltrane School of Jazz in Rome. And ever woven into this rich tapestry, I perform concerts that explore and celebrate the jazz, folk and musical theater repertoire.
Holistic, uplifting and supportive
In all my years of professional music and music education, I’ve rarely witnessed a voice teacher/vocal coach as talented as Faye Nepon. She’s an exquisite performer, but for me, the how is as important as the what, and this is what sets Faye apart from other teachers. She has an extraordinary ability to convey the principles of singing/performing in a holistic, uplifting and supportive way. She’s simply the best!
