Broadway Boomers is a theater program for adults – ages 40 and up – dedicated to celebrating our shared passion for performance arts, community and the joy of putting on a show, through beloved musical theater songs and productions.
As creators of the Broadway Boomers, Lisa Volk and I are committed to…
- Providing a creative and safe environment for singers to explore their potential and tap into their self expression.
- Honoring the composers, lyricists and writers who have enhanced our lives with their brilliant songs and shows.
- Producing performances that feature each participant as A Star!
Lisa and I started the “Boomers” in 2010 with one class and due to its popularity, it has expanded to three classes and is continuing to grow!
Each class meets once a week at the Center for Musical Arts in Lafayette and the year is punctuated with performances that never fail to delight audiences.

“LET’S DO IT! LET’S FALL IN LOVE….” with Cole Porter!
If you’re looking for a little adventure during the month of July, join this class to explore and sing (solos and ensemble) your favorite Cole Porter tunes! This four-week course is a favorite among our adult students, and is an abbreviated version of our Broadway Boomer classes for adults ages 40 and up, held from September to April. Here, you’ll get a taste for what it’s like to learn and practice your performance skills in a safe and supportive environment. Whether you’ve had past singing, acting or performance experience, or whether you just like to sing in the shower, then this class is for you!
